Having a June birthday, and being a swimmer-- I can tell you I had many, many pool parties for my birthday! They were just what I wanted. My friends would come over, and we'd quickly change into our suits. The rest was easy-- just lots and lots of swimming, intermixed with pool games, and warm weather treats like popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. After a little food, we'd be back in the pool for more fun.

In my shop, I've created are the perfect Pool Party invites for just that type of gathering - brightly colored sun, yum and fun are ready to go! Also, if you're in need of some pool game ideas, I've got you covered there as well. Check out the links below for all your Pool Party needs: decorations, menu ideas, games and more:

Free Printable Art Deco Style Tags for All Occasions

Free Printable Art Deco Style Tags from B.Nute productions
I have to admit, I never thought I was a big art deco fan, but the more I think about it, the more I realize, I've loved it for quite some time. In the 1990's I lived in New York City while at graduate art school. New York City is an amazing place for art deco. My all-time favorite spot is Grand Central Station -- always busy, always bustling and filled with art deco wonder (also Beaux Arts style). Next runner up Rockefeller Center followed closely by the Chrysler building and of course, the Empire State building. All marvels to the era!

To honor more of that timeless style, I had fun creating some free printable Art Deco Tags-- each with a saying perfect for an assortment of occasions. Just print out and put on that bridal shower gift, bottle of wine your bringing to a cocktail party, or thank you present.

Gatsby Inspired Art Deco Invitations for All Occasions

Great Gatsby Inspired Art Deco Invitations by B.Nute productions on Zazzle
Ooo, I am just swooning over the art direction of the upcoming Great Gatsby movie. Ever since those gals on Downton Abbey donned their 1920's outfits I have been just slightly obsessed with the look. Oh how I'd like to fill my wardrobe with those beaded numbers, stylish cloche hats, and jewels!

Well, since I'm not getting a new wardrobe, I thought I'd create a new Art Deco / Great Gatsby inspired invitation. I initially created this design a month ago for a fundraising event at my kid's school district. I just love the look-- perfect for any occasion-- a birthday, a bridal shower, an anniversary, a themed Roaring 20's or Great Gatsby Party, and more.

So, bop on over to my shop, and order one up... then grab that flapper number and get ready to party!

Fiesta Invitation Inspired by Mexican Loteria Cards Plus Free Printable

Fiesta Invitation Inspired by Mexican Loteria Cards by B.Nute productions
On one of my vacations to Mexico, I had the treat of playing loteria while lounging in the pool. It was a treat because, a) I was lounging in the pool with a cold beverage, and b) it was fun playing a game while swimming! Loteria is a Latin American game similar to bingo. An announcer names calls off a word (and/or number) and you fill the space on your card if you have it until you win. One big difference, though, is the loteria cards have images on them, not just numbers. I've always loved the look of the illustrations and drawings, and also found the objects/items on the cards to be quite curious. There are typical objects like fish, sun, and moon, but then there are others like skull, hand, and mermaid that seem like pretty unique choices. I guess this is what makes the game so cool for me!

With Cinco de Mayo around the corner, I had a fun day designing my own set of loteria cards. They turned out so colorful and festive, I thought they'd make a great invitation (see image at top). Also, I've included some below as free printables, perfect for tags for a goodie bag or strung around a bottle of tequila for your hostess gift at a fiesta! Enjoy.

It's a Fiesta: Invitations and Inspiration

Fiesta Invitations by B.Nute productions on Zazzle
I love a good fiesta.
I love everything about it.
I love the food;
Mexican food is definitely one of my favs.
I love the drinks;
who doesn't love a Margarita and nothing is better than a nice cold Corona.
I love the colors;
turquoise, magenta, red, orange, yellow, the brighter and bolder the better.
I love the decorations;
papel picado banners, mexican pottery, lotteria cards, Mexican cloth,  a pinata and a string of twinkling lights on the patio-- it's all that's needed.
I love the music;
just walk into any taqueria in California and you feel like you've taken a little trip over the border. The music always seems spirited and lively, and puts a smile on my face.

So it's no wonder why my Fiesta invitations are some of my absolute favorites! With the hand designed oilcloth patterns in the background and vintage illustrations, these invites just make you want to party. I've created lots of options in my shop-- mix and match backgrounds and illustrations to find your perfect fit. Head on over to my shop and dust off your blender-- it's Fiesta time!
