Airline Ticket Invitation and Party Ideas

Airline Ticket Invitations: Going Away Party, Destination Bridal Shower or Destination Party by B.Nute productions
Is someone you know moving to a new town? Do you know a friend who's getting married at a very cool destination? Have you always dreamed of a party in New York City, London, or other amazing location? Here's the perfect invitation for your party, an Airline Ticket invitation.

How To Choose a Destination
Depending on the type of party you are hosting (Going Away, Bridal Shower, Birthday Party), your destination choice may vary. For a Going Away Party, choose the guest of honor's new hometown; for a Bridal Shower you could choose the honeymoon destination or location of the wedding; for a Birthday Destination Party... well just pick the city of your dreams and go. The sky is the limit. Here are more ideas for your Airline Ticket/Destination Party...

Dress Up the Front Door Like the Gate at the Airport
On the front door, make a sign that looks like the counter at the gate at an airport. You could wait at the door and greet each guest to check them into the flight. They will love the personal greeting!

Start the Party with a Short Flight and Movie
Once your guests arrive, announce that the flight is ready to board. Have them go into a different room into your house. In this room, have chairs set up, and ask everyone to be seated for the short flight to your final destination. If you have a TV in the room, show a short video-- maybe a video about the destination from a popular travel channel, or you could show a short animation for fun. While the in-flight movie is on, play flight attendant and serve drinks, peanuts and pretzels to the guests. Once the movie is over, prepare for landing and let the party begin!

Party at the Final Destination
After the flight tell guests they have arrived and it's time to party. Play music from your destination, and serve food found in that city as well. You could go to a local travel agent and see it they have travel brochures, or find some literature to print out online. Folks will love all the little details-- it will make this one a party to remember.

Well, that's all for now. Thank you for flying with me today on my blog! Stay tuned this week for more Airline Ticket/Destination Party ideas!

Snowboard Gear and Snowboard Party Ideas

Snowboard Items by B.Nute productions on Zazzle
Ski week vacation is over, but there's plenty of boarding left for the season! Head over to my shop to pick up some cool snowboarding gear to keep the season going-- from phone cases, computer (and phone) skins, water bottle, travel bags and more. The note pad can make a great "goodie bag" gift as well for a snowboarding party.

Speaking of a snowboarding party... with so many boarders on the slopes, a Snowboarding Party is a great theme for any kid who can't get enough of it. Here are some ideas to help entertain your energetic boarders if heading to the slopes for a day is not an option.

Snowboarding Party Ideas
Growing up, the closest ski slope to me was about 3 hours away... quite a far trek for one day, but in high school, I did it many times! If you do have slopes close by, a Snowboarding Party shredding the hill with a couple best buddies is a great idea... but, many of us don't have the slopes (or snow) as close by... so here are some other ideas for a Snowboarding Party:

Watch Some Snowboarding Flicks
If you can't be on the slopes, why not watch some epic movies of snowboarders in far off destinations. Here's a great top 10 best snowboard movie list-- I'm sure one of these is sure to please.

Trampoline Time to Perfect the Moves
Many folks have a trampoline in their yard... and/or trampoline gyms are springing up all over the place. Make this part of your party, but give the kids some goals-- have them come up with some epic boarding moves on the trampoline. Have them give the move a name. Hold a contest for the best move, best name, most original, most daring, and more.

Snowboard Dry Land Training Camp
Head out to your backyard, driveway or local park to get the crowd moving with some dry land snowboard training drills. Tom Gibbings site recommends flexibility, core strengthening, leg strengthening, balance, and shoulder strengthening. Get some cones out and have the kids jumping between them like this training video shows (click link). Another idea is to head up to some nearby trails for trail running or rock hoping. There's also stadium drills- stairs, hurdles, and core work. By the end of a good workout you should have some hungry partiers!

Design Your Own Snowboard Gear
For the creative crowd-- print out some "Design your own snowboard gear" templates, and let the crowd create. Perhaps the best work can be submitted to Burton for their new line?

Snowboard Poetry
Sounds a little "deep" for a party-- but the crowd may have a blast trying to create some snowboard poetry. Print out some of these Snowboard Lingo dictionaries and have each person write their own poems only using the lingo from the sites. Perhaps allow a few pronouns and verbs-- but make sure they use 90% of the lingo to be truly poetic! Shreddin' the Gnar 101 has some quick terms to get started-- but then other sites like Frosty Rider have a dictionary full!

Lasso
Lassoing up Some Fun!

A Real Cowgirl!

If real horses aren't part of your party, no problem! Just set up some hay bales with saddles (possibly borrow some from a local barn/horse friend), and you'll have your cowboys riding the whole party long!

Needle in a Haystack
I remember this game fondly from my father's company picnic, year after year.... Finding treasures in hay is a lot of work-- but the reward is well worth it!

Layout a large tarp on the ground (you will definitely want the tarp so clean up is easy.) Un furl a hay bale or 2 onto the tarp. Now throw little treasures or coins throughout the way.

Line the kids up around the tarp, and set them off hunting together to find their treasure!

Horse Relays
The old fashioned horse on a stick can be great fun for relays at a cowboy/western party. Separate your party into 2 teams and set up a obstacle course through your yard that each cowboy much gallop around. Come up with fun "stops" the horse rider must do along the way. Relay races are always a hit!

Square Dance
Head online to buy a fun square dance recording, and learn a couple steps. Now gather the party together and put on a little square dance fun!

Free Printable Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt Game

Free Printable Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt Game from B.Nute productions
Send your party guests on a fun Teddy Bear scavenger hunt at your Teddy Bear Party/Teddy Bear Picnic with this free printable Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt map/game.

Teddy needs to find his den, and it's each guests' job to help him. Set up a small (or large depending on age of the crowd) obstacle course/hunt in your yard, house or party space and get searching.

How to Play
Create a "course" in your yard or your house with the 7 "stops" or locations on the map. At each location, you can have the guests either do the activity or if it's a very young crowd, they can pick up a "souvenir" or trinket from each spot. Here are some ideas for each location:

  • Pick Some Berries - At this spot you can have some real or pretend berries that they can find/gather and put in a berry basket or eat!
  • Find a Picnic Basket - Once they find the picnic basket, have them look inside and pull out a trinket to show they have been at the basket-- It could be a paper napkin, or a "sandwich" or some other picnic type item.
  • Catch a Fish - You could play the old fashioned game of catching a small fish toy with a magnetic fishing pole... or just have a bucket of toy fish the children can reach into and take one.
  • Climb a Tree - Climbing a tree may not be appropriate for certain ages, but you can set up a little space the guests can "climb" on (i.e, soft pillows, a backyard play structure) to act like the tree.
  • See a Hiker - Either have a person pose as a hiker, or put a small picture of a hiker hidden somewhere where the guests have to spot.
  • Eat Some Honey - Put out a little cracker and honey for the kids to nibble on. If the guests are too young to eat honey and/or do not like it, you can put a substitute sweet or a few "honey" flavored teddy grahams to nibble on.
  • The Bear's Den - Create a nice cozy area to act as the den. Set up blankets, and pillows and fun place to tumble and play.

Now start setting up your hunt and have a beary good time!
